Hey! I'm Gal, but I go by Shade. I am a 15-year-old builder focused on software development, Linux, and open source.

I love thinking of new ideas in my free time and then actually building them into real tools that make life easier and more productive. That shower-thought-to-working-app moment? Still the best feeling ever :)

Projects I am building

• gmux - Ghostty-based Linux terminal with vertical tabs, GTK 4 + Rust private
• scrollr - smooth scrolling for external mice on macOS private
• banger - local search router that adds custom bangs private

How I work

I used to go full linux mode. but I gave up :D linux has too many options, and all its quirks. I just said screw it, I bought the PC to game, so let's JUST game (SteamOS) I do my work on my mac, which gets out of my way.
I can just work without thinking about it.

Linux is still where I come from: customization, privacy, control and transparency. even if I don't use it, I know it and value all its principles, especially open source.

Build style

I like to do open source. I believe in transparency and I want people to use the software I make and contribute to it. otherwise, why make it?
