I remember the first time I tried Vercel's fx coding agent, I was testing its UX. how the TUI behaves, the commands, shortcuts, structures and overall feel of it. it honestly really impressed me, but that's just the first time you see something new.
after a while I remembered it existed and used it a little bit, but there were some stuff I would change. then I said.. why not? how hard could it be to make a tiny coding agent TUI?
so I did. I started this one day ago as of writing this, with DeepSeek v4.1 flash. I was trying that model out in OpenCode anyways (goddamn it's fast) so I said I'd give it a shot.
honestly it did not bad at all, for a single prompt. I proceeded to fix a shit ton of shit and add features for the next 3 hours, but it was late so I went to sleep. next day I keep working on it, fixing every tiny detail. and now GPT 6 Sol came out so I'm using it, very impressive so far.
I'm happy with the results of gx, I think it might turn out to be awesome. the feeling where every single idea you have you can just implement is the best, there really are no limits. there's no "oh but this doesn't work" or "bummer it doesn't support X" like you'll encounter when using existing TUIs, nah, this is my TUI and I'll make it absolute perfection.
